The number one goal for the basketball program at Venice High School is to be first class. We want the players to be looked upon as fine young men who will contribute great things to this society. There are three principles at Venice that we try to instill in our players. We want them to be good people, good students and good players.  The coaching staff takes this very seriously and goes to great measures in order to make this possible. We feel like if our players do the right things now, success will follow them in the future. Basketball is not life, just the tool we use to teach life principles. 

The Venice team objectives are very simple - play hard, play smart, and play together. We want our players to "play hard" every second they are on the floor.   Anything less than 100% and they are cheating themselves and the team. We want our players to learn and understand the game of basketball. Basketball is very simple when played the correct way. Playing together as a “TEAM” is a must to develop a quality program. Players must be willing to give of themselves (decrease) so the team may increase. A group of young men that place the team above themselves have a chance to do great things.

In order to run this type of program, a lot of support is needed from coaches, players, parents, school and community. The proceeds raised from the booster club will directly enhance the players and program as a whole. The booster club helps fund uniforms, practice gear, training equipment, camps and much more.  Some of the opportunities to become involved with are gym sign sponsorships, program advertisement, T-shirts and more. The Venice basketball family would love for you to get involved in the exciting future of the program.
